A two-storey extension to a 1940’s semi-detached house. The existing house has several elegant rooms and a large back garden. However, as the garden is east facing the clients were keen to gain as much direct sunlight into their home as possible. The two-storey extension accommodates a kitchen and dining at ground floor level, with a bedroom and study at first floor level. The extension is orientated to receive sunlight throughout the day while a void at first floor level allows direct sunlight into the center of the home later in the evening.
